Creating the Envoy
For the past fifteen years, There have been many people who asked me, "What created the Envoy of Efficiency? Why do you do this?". I would never give them the real answer, I would just tell them they had to walk in my past foot steps to truly understand. As I said before, this time a round things are going to be different. This is what created the Envoy of Efficiency...
As I was growing up, I watched several of my relatives get laid off, down sized or just plain fired from jobs because "efficiency experts" advised their companies that workforce reduction was the way to achieve more profits. Hindsight is 20/20; looking back, American companies see that workforce reduction is usually not the right answer. If anything, reducing workforce personnel actually takes away from a company's collective knowledge and skill base; thus taking away from revenues which reduces a company's profit margin. So, the Efficiency Experts of the 1980's created short term profit boosts, collected their commission checks, and watched as many of their clients collapsed.
My passion for Business Efficiency and Operations Research Analysis stems from these memories. I adhere to my dream to never have to watch a company unnecessarily downsize its employees, even though sometimes a single position (not employee) may need to be removed. I do not call myself an efficiency expert. I am an Engineer, an Operations Research Analyst to be precise, and I refer to myself as the Envoy of Efficiency.
